Rain threatened, and we headed to hill to get some big jobs done.
Big job number one: dig potatoes.
The kids spent a lot of time in the shade, but when they pitched in, they were a big help.
You never know what’s going on with those underground crops. The weeds were really out of hand, but the potatoes were just great.
We planted just over a bushel, and hauled fourteen bushels down the hill. Best ever.
I love days like this.
Happy to hear I am not the only one who struggles with weeds. The potatoes look great! What variety do you use?
This year we grew Kennebecs and Yukon Golds. Usually we like to throw a few reds in there too, but they were sold out. Weeds have been big this year. Fortunately, lots of crops have been happy enough to compete with them.

Every neat. Thanks for sharing 🙂
my potato plants are still flowering, but soon… :0) m.
Awesome! We’ve harvested just a bit of our potatoes (we’re digging by hand) and they are truly wonderful!
