frosty mornin’

we had our first frost in the hollow in the wee hours between saturday and sunday. i missed one of my favorite seasonal moments that first frosty dawn as we had spent the night away. when we returned to the farm mid day the sun was high in the sky, the air warm and the plants just showing signs of the previous night’s chill. today however, as predicted, the temperatures dropped below freezing again. my little guy and i donned our woolens, wrapped ourselves up and tromped around in the brisk dawn. it was as lovely as you would hope, the true passage from summer to autumn complete.

a new season emerges, new projects, new piles of importance, time to imagine the winter ahead

the season changes.
